大英帝国が生んだ偉大なるメタルバンド、アイアン・メイデンの1stライヴ・アルバム。
1985年リリース。
邦題「死霊復活」
5thアルバム「POWERSLAVE」リリースに伴うツアー「World Slavery Tour」からのライヴ音源(収録されているのは1985年カリフォルニアと1984年ロンドンの音源)
私はこのアルバムを3種類持っています。CD1枚のものと2枚組のもので、Disc1については収録曲は一緒ですが、イントロの “Churchill’s Speech” を1曲とカウントしているものは1曲多い形になっています (“Churchill’s Speech” は曲目リストにないバージョンにも収録されています)
1曲目の “Churchill’s Speech” ～ “Aces High” の流れは鳥肌モノです。
そこから人気曲の “Two Minutes To Midnight“, “The Trooper” と続きます。
他にも “The Number Of The Beast“, “Hallowed Be Thy Name“, “Iron Maiden” といった現在でもライヴで定番の曲が収録されています。
それと、13分を超える “Rime Of The Ancient Mariner” もやっちゃってます。
メイデンのライヴ・アルバムの中で1,2を争う人気の高い本作。選曲も良いので、1st「IRON MAIDEN」～5th「POWERSLAVE」のベスト・アルバム代わりにもなります。
これから購入をお考えの方には2枚組(“Wrathchild” 収録の方)をオススメします。Disc2に5曲収録されていますが全曲良いです。
